The stunning Dunstanburgh Castle dominates a remote headland on the Northumberland Coast. Inaccessible by road, access in by beautiful a cliff top walk from the nearest village of Craster just over a mile away. Craster is famous for producing smoked kippers and the Craster Seafood Restaurant is an ideal place to sample them.
Building the castle began in 1313 and played vital roles in battles against the Scots and the Wars of the Roses.
The castle is currently managed by English Heritage and is open to the public daily in Summer and weekends in Winter
