With the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District, the Peak District , the North York Moors and the Northumberland National Park, the area has more than its fair share of natural beauty.  Five national parks attract visitors to admire the scenery or take part in activities ranging from caving and rock climbing to canoeing and sailing.
