CARDIFF
Cardiff is a compact city with many attractions in easy walking distance of each other, and the Central bus and railway stations.
The shopping centre is an intriguing mix of household names and small independent stores covering interests from handmade jewelry and art to train spotting. Most of the smaller shops are in unspoilt, Victorian arcades that have been cleverly maintained in a modern shopping precinct.
Just off the precinct, are the Millenium Stadium, Cardiff Castle and the National Museum of Wales. Take a tour of the stadium, explore the Norman castle or spend a day at the National Museum, where admission is free, admiring the largest art collection in Wales.
Just outside the city centre, Cardiff Bay offers a wide selection of family entertainment, restaurants and nightlife. Children will love the hands on science at Techniquest, Doctor Who fans can travel in time at the Doctor Who Exhibition and the Red Dragon Centre offers something for all the family.
The National History Museum, at St Fagans, is one of Europe’s largest open air museums.
